Growing Tips!
Primula
Primula's like cool or even cold conditions, if you have plants indoors it is best to place them in the conservatory or on a cool windowsill
Again if indoors, make sure you do not over water your plants, it is the number one reason for plant loss
Always remove any dead flowers regularly
A regular liquid feed will help promote more flower
Our latest introductions like Cheshire Life and Rose Passion are very hardy and will give great performance in borders or on the patio
Why not make up a hanging basket with Forever White, it is lightly scented so its nice to have near the door
Begonia
We are having a summer with high rainfall and high humidity, these conditions are ideal for powdery mildew to rear its head!
A few pointers, if possible give your plants plenty of space to give air movement around the foliage
Try and keep the foliage as dry as possible, give a good spray on dry foliage at night - we have had success useing Roseclear
Begonia's like an open free draining compost, don't get them too wet, just keep them nice and moist
They can be quite hungry so a regular feed will keep their performance at its best
Royal Renaissance are what we call 'self cleaning' this means as flowers become old they drop from the plants, however Blue Sky will require regular removal of old flowers
Royal Renaissance Flamboyant is a useful plant for hanging baskets as well as patio containers
Royal Renaissance prefer a sunny/semi shade position, Blue Sky however are more than happy in a sunny spot
The new Renoir family of Begonia's are big and robust plants so, don't forget to feed to keep them in good shape, remove any faded flowers for best performance
Flutterbye Salmon thankfully takes little looking after, the flowers drop from the plant, so a regular sweep will suffice, don't over water but keep well fed
Our new Peardrop is such a fantastic plant, there really is nothing quite like it, to keep your Peardrop in good order give regular feeds and remove any faded flowers
